Timetabling Officer - JC1021 (Ref: 1021)
This is an excellent opportunity to join the Registry and its Examinations, Timetabling and Events (ETE) Team. You will be reporting to the Registry Operations Manager and be part of a busy and changing environment. Whilst engaging with the full range of activities undertaken by the ETE Team, you will be responsible for the operational planning and management of the central Timetabling and Room Booking Service to assure the University's teaching provision. You will also make an important contribution to improving student experience and space utilization helping to align the use of the University's teaching spaces with its Learning and Teaching Strategy. While the University has a well-established timetabling system, the timetable is still largely based on historical information and practices. You will have the opportunity to work closely with key administrators in the academic schools on the strategic aim of developing a timetabling process based on academic programme requirements and historical student choices.
Educated to degree level, you will have previous experience of timetabling, timetabling processes in an HE environment, data analysis and reporting and a systematic approach to complex problem solving. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, an understanding of principles of good data management and have a strong sense of customer focus. You will have the ability to work under pressure, be extremely organised and accurate with meticulous attention to detail. You will be an expert in the use of Microsoft Office packages (Excel and Access), and show initiative and enthusiasm.
