Study Manager

We would like to invite applications for the post of Programme Manager to work with Dr Sukhi Shergill and Professor Philip McGuire on a range of clinical studies investigating pharmacological interventions, and related neurobiological factors, in the treatment and outcomes of psychosis.
The post holder will be responsible for the management, administration, co-ordination, recruitment and assessment of the study participants, entering data, and assisting with the day to day running of the studies based within King's Health Partners (primarily at the Institute of Psychiatry & South London and Maudsley Foundation Mental Health Trust).
The successful candidate will have a good first degree in a relevant subject e.g. psychology, nursing, health sciences, or allied health profession, a relevant postgraduate qualification and evidence of clinical research and working with patients with psychosis.
Starting salary £33,193 pa (inclusive of £2,323 pa London Allowance).

Post-Doctoral Research Associate Salary: £27,428 - £35,788 pa

The Faculty wishes to appoint a full time Research Associate with effect from 1 October 2011 or as soon as possible thereafter. The Research Associate would be funded by a grant from the ESRC entitled "Cross Section Dependence in Panel Data Models". The Research Associate would be based at the Faculty of Economics, working with a group comprising Hashem Pesaran, Sean Holly, Vanessa Smith and Elisa Tosetti.
Applicants should have, or must be expecting to complete, a PhD in Economics or Econometrics before they take up this position. A good knowledge of panel methods is required. In addition, strong skills in programming in Matlab/Gauss will be an advantage. The post may well also suit someone taking secondment from another position.

Chair Molecular Biophysics

The Department of Biology is an expanding and thriving research community of the highest international calibre. Biology at York ranked first-equal among UK broad-spectrum biology departments for research judged "world-leading" by the 2008 UK RAE and has recently featured as one of only seven UK departments included in the Times Higher Education top 50 World Ranking of Life Science Departments for 2010.
We are now commencing a major new initiative to recruit international leaders in key strategic areas in the Department. Our aim is to expand our research activity and develop new cross-disciplinary links with other science departments at York (e.g. Chemistry, Physics) and the Hull York Medical School (particularly the Centre for Immunology and Infection). We wish to recruit world leaders in Plant Biology, Molecular Biophysics, and Mammalian Cell Biology to complement and expand our existing strengths.
