Applicants should have either a PhD in physics (preferably in MRI or
NMR), or a PhD in a relevant biological field. Experience of magnetic
resonance imaging or PET scanning, while not essential, would be highly
desirable. However, training will be given where appropriate.

Scholarship Description:
Applications are invited for a Research Associate to work on a project
using in vivo imaging to investigate brain and tissue function
(particularly heart) in mouse and sheep models of Huntington’s disease.
This project is conducted in collaboration with the Laboratory for
Molecular Imaging at the Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre, Addenbrooke’s
Hospital. The project will involve the use of MR and PET scanners and
subsequent image analysis to investigate changes in brain and other
organ structure and morphology in both transgenic and neurochemical
animal models of Huntington’s disease. The imaging will be conducted
primarily in the Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre. You must be a careful and
methodical worker, self-motivated and able to conduct experiments and
analyse data independently. Careful observation and accurate record
keeping are essential. The post will require some weekend work and a
flexible approach to working hours.
